Dr. Matt Crandall DPT, OCS, CMTPT
Dr. Crandall is from Buffalo, NY and attended Ithaca College from 2007-2013 where he earned his physical therapy doctorate degree in 2013. He continued his education by accepting a position at Carolinas HealthCare System where he pursued and completed the Orthopedic Residency Program in 2015. Dr. Crandall is a Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist, which allows him to incorporate advanced musculoskeletal dry needling as part of his treatment plan to help eliminate soft tissue tension and pain. Today, he is also recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association as a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy. His dynamic training allows him to evaluate and assess complex problems while incorporating trigger point dry needling, manual therapy, mechanical diagnosis therapy, neuromuscular re-education, and muscular strengthening as part of his treatment approach.
Matt has a diverse athletic background playing and studying a variety of sports. He played collegiate football at Ithaca College for 4 years, along with experience in mixed martial arts, wrestling, Brazilian jiujitsu, ice hockey, baseball, and basketball. He is accustomed to working through athletic injuries of all kinds and has firsthand experience as a lifelong athlete who continues to train actively as a Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu within the Charlotte community. He currently works with athletes and active adults dealing with acute and chronic injuries from the head to toe (literally) as well as offering his Monthly Maintenance Program as a long term preventative solution to injuries and pain. Dr. Crandall utilizes a comprehensive interview and assessment approach which eliminates the guesswork and identifies the root cause of your problem. He focus's on fixing the problem while also treating the symptoms to allow for long term resolution of your problem. He has enjoyed his journey so far and looks forward to continuing to help the Charlotte community enjoy a healthy, active and painfree lifestyle.
