Is Shoulder Pain Stealing Your Strength and Confidence?
We know how frustrating it is when shoulder pain won't go away. You've tried rest, ice, and generic exercises from YouTube, but nothing seems to stick. Sound familiar?
Pain That Won't Go Away
Your shoulder hurts when you lift overhead, reach behind your back, or sleep on that side. Rest helps temporarily, but the pain returns as soon as you get back to training.
Weak and Unstable Feeling
Your shoulder feels unstable during exercises, like it could give out at any moment. You've lost strength and confidence in movements you used to do easily.
Fear of Making It Worse
You're afraid to push through the pain because you don't want to cause more damage. The uncertainty is holding you back from the workouts and activities you love.

"I am so grateful for the help I received at Power Physio. I came in with pain in my shoulder/rotator cuff area and was not having any luck with at home rehab.
Jordan was amazing! After just one visit I started feeling relief and was able to get back into the gym. He listened carefully to my concerns and quickly worked out a plan of how to get me back on track. He was able to get me to a point I was feeling almost back to 100% and was finally able to sleep through the night without any pain.
I can’t thank Jordan and the team enough for all their help and would highly recommend Power Physio to anyone on the fence about PT!"

From surfing, skating, and skimboarding to wrestling, football, and lacrosse, Jordan grew up with a very active lifestyle—one that taught him the important link between physical activity and mental and physical well-being.
For college, Jordan traversed the state to Boone, NC, to study Exercise Science at Appalachian State University. It was there that he found a passion for long-distance and trail running.
After graduating, Jordan earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Winston-Salem State University. He then moved to Charlotte to begin his career.

Frequently Asked Questions
Get answers to common questions about shoulder pain treatment and what to expect during physical therapy in Charlotte.
Recovery time varies depending on the severity of your injury and how long you've had pain. Some patients see significant improvement in 4-6 weeks, while more complex shoulder problems (like rotator cuff tears or post-surgical rehab) may take 3-6 months. During your evaluation, we'll give you a realistic timeline based on your specific condition. Our goal is always to get you back to pain-free movement as quickly and safely as possible.
No. In North Carolina, you do not need a referral to see a physical therapist. You can schedule directly with us and begin treatment right away. If we determine during your evaluation that you need imaging or medical consultation first, we'll let you know and can coordinate with your physician.
Yes, in many cases. Research shows that physical therapy can be highly effective for partial rotator cuff tears and even some full-thickness tears, especially when caught early. We focus on strengthening the surrounding muscles, improving shoulder mechanics, and reducing pain through hands-on treatment. If surgery is ultimately needed, PT beforehand improves surgical outcomes. We'll be honest about whether conservative treatment is right for you or if you need to see an orthopedic surgeon.
Shoulder impingement occurs when the tendons of the rotator cuff get compressed and irritated during overhead movements, causing pain and inflammation. A rotator cuff tear is actual damage to the tendon fibers—either partial or complete. Impingement can lead to tears if left untreated. During your evaluation, we'll perform specific tests to determine exactly what's causing your shoulder pain and create a treatment plan accordingly.
We are an out-of-network physical therapy provider, which means we do not bill insurance directly. However, we provide detailed superbills that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement based on your out-of-network benefits. Many of our patients receive partial or full reimbursement. We encourage you to call your insurance company and ask about your "out-of-network physical therapy" coverage before your first visit.
