Don't Let These Hold You Back From Your Goals

As athletes ourselves, we know how frustrating it is to feel sidelined. You've worked too hard to let pain, injury, or fear of re-injury steal your progress and confidence.

Nagging Pain That Won't Quit

You've tried rest, ice, and generic stretches, but the pain keeps coming back every time you ramp up training. You're stuck in cycles of flare-ups with no real answers.

Cookie-Cutter Rehab That Doesn't Stick

You've been through PT before, but it felt like a one-size-fits-all approach that treated symptoms instead of finding the real problem. Now you're back at square one.

Fear of Never Being 100% Again

You worry that your best athletic days are behind you—that you'll never move with the power, speed, and freedom you once had. The mental weight is as heavy as the physical pain.

"I wish there was a way to give more than 5 stars! I had knee pain for months and couldn't figure it out. In 4 very effective and educational sessions with Matt I was back to 100%. While I can't guarantee the same quick results, I can guarantee the same great experience. His in depth knowledge and diverse background were extremely evident in every session. Dr. Jordan Rodrigues is a North Carolina native raised in Kill Devil Hills on the Outer Banks. From surfing, skating, and skimboarding to wrestling, football, and lacrosse, Jordan grew up with a very active lifestyle—one that taught him the important link between physical activity and mental and physical well-being.

Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about physical therapy in South End Charlotte and what to expect during your care at PowerPhysio.

Do I need a referral to see a physical therapist in North Carolina?

No. In North Carolina, you do not need a referral to see a physical therapist. You can schedule directly with us and begin care right away. If you're unsure whether you should see a doctor first, we're happy to discuss your situation during a free phone consultation before beginning treatment.

Do you accept insurance?

We are an out-of-network physical therapy provider, which means we do not bill insurance directly. However, we provide detailed superbills that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement based on your out-of-network benefits. Many of our patients receive partial or full reimbursement depending on their plan. We encourage you to call your insurance company to ask about your "out-of-network physical therapy" coverage before your first visit.

How is PowerPhysio different from other physical therapy clinics in Charlotte?

PowerPhysio offers true one-on-one care with board-certified Doctors of Physical Therapy who are athletes themselves. Every session is 45-60 minutes with your DPT—no assistants, no double-booking, no rushed appointments. We focus on finding and fixing the root cause of your pain, not just managing symptoms. Our Reset → Rebuild → Thrive system is designed specifically for athletes and active adults who want to get back stronger than before.

What should I expect during my first visit?

Your first visit is a comprehensive evaluation where we'll take time to understand your goals, medical history, and what's been holding you back. We'll perform a thorough movement assessment to identify the root cause of your limitations. From there, we'll create a personalized treatment plan and often begin hands-on treatment during that same session. Plan for 60-75 minutes for your initial evaluation.

What types of athletes do you work with?

We specialize in helping hybrid athletes, runners, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners, CrossFit athletes, recreational lifters, and weekend warriors. That said, we work with anyone who lives an active lifestyle and refuses to let pain or injury hold them back—whether you're training for a marathon, competing in a tournament, or just want to stay strong and healthy for life.

Still have questions?

We're here to help. Reach out and let's discuss how we can help you get back to doing what you love.
